Hi,

Well u might try ABC-Amber Lit Converter, Hazzard has used
it with some success! heh.. :wink: But it beats me how he did it?

Code: Select all
http://www.thebeatlesforever.com/processtext/abclit.html

Never had much luck with those ABC apps..no not one, strange it is!

====

Or if that don't work u can convert them to html and read them in
the free ebook reader..."yBook", like I do. :idea:
here..>>
Code: Select all
http://members.iinet.net.au/~simonh/spacejock/yBook_Version.html

Use ConvertLIT GUI V2.0 by DukeLupus, very easy to use, and works
on most lit books. It was on the first page!

Code: Select all
http://www.hot.ee/dukelupus/ConvertLIT.htm

====

Hope this helps.

cheers Katy :wink:

Hi, this link had gone. Well, I need it badly so anyone can reupload this for me.
And another question, I have a lot of ebooks ( downloaded from read.forumsplaces) but most of them in kind of raw material. I wonder where i can find the high quality covers for these ( in past, i did find the coversat amazon but now it's not available any more).
Thanks very much

PDF to text

Postby machidiel » Thu Mar 02, 2006 1:08 pm

What about PDF to text? I want to conserve disk space and read from text instead of PDF files.

I've actually already downloaded WordMagus but I've never used it before.

I'm using ReaderStudio to convert HTML and TXT files to LIT but it can't open a lot of HTML documents. Nor was it able to convert a TXT file, which was rather puzzling since, after all, it's just plain text, right? Oh well, it's free after all.

Hi machidiel,

In ur pdf reader try this>
You can convert a pdf to text, by going to >file, >save as.. text.

It will need some formating.. but it's all text.

I use yBook eBook Reader to read html, rtf, text on the pc.
Very nice, imoh. :wink:

Actually, I've also tried AmberLIT converter to convert to text/pdf....but not all .lits will be readable....I mean, the resulting txt will have some special characters, the header & footer (usually the author name, title and page #)....It'll also be not formatted properly....Does ReaderWorks help in this?

For those wanting to convert pdf to txt, try printing the file with 'print to file' option selected and chose a .txt output file.....or just Google for many freewares/sharewares available.

Thanks minbiza for the yBook tip. I wish it had a Pocket PC version though since I use that to read most books.

WordMagus works fine for converting PDF to HTML (before using ReaderStudio or ReaderWorks to convert to LIT) but you do have to clean up your text a bit sometimes, and remove CSS code from the source.
