Question about IRC

Postby pommekitty » Sun Apr 08, 2007 3:40 pm

Actually...two questions:

1-does anyone know of a free program I can use to access IRC? I currently use mIRC but I only have 14 days or so until the evaluation is over and I'd rather avoid having to buy if at all possible.

2-do you know where the books available on IRC come from (I'm on #bookz)? From what I can see new books are uploaded everyday and I was wondering if there was a primary source for them with IRC being just an intermediary.

For example, for some ebooks I've downloaded, there was a txt file in the folders saying that it was a N.E.R.D. release. Do they have a website from which we can download?

Ignore the evaluation message on MIRC. They don't charge. Mine has been telling me my evaluation period is over, for several years now.

Another half way decent program is chatzilla which is an addon to mozilla's firefox browser.

As far as I know these people scan their books in and put them on their servers to share. Thats all I know about where they come from.
